When I first started blogging 5 years ago- I had no idea what I was doing. So while some bloggers were thinking about how their blog looked on mobile devices or worrying about whether they should use WordPress or Blogger.
I might be the only person in the world who thinks my blog design sucks. But I’m not here to talk about what I like (or don’t like), I’m here to talk about why redesigned blogs can make a huge impact on your readership and how you can go about redesigning your blog without breaking the bank.

While this may look good to them, it can be a total turnoff for the visitors. Most people don’t have the patience to go through all the clutter and they just move on to another website. 2) Lack of focus : One of the most common problems with website design is that there isnt a clear focus or direction. This can be caused by too many graphics and animations, or by the use of too many typefaces and colors. When everything is competing for attention, the visitor gets overwhelmed and loses focus on what he/she was trying to find. 3) Bad layout : Most designers seem to have forgotten about the basic principles of layout design. The result is a cluttered, unorganized and difficult to navigate website. 4) Wrong use of typefaces : Another common mistake that designers make is the use of inappropriate typefaces. They often use too many typefaces which makes the text look messy and unprofessional. 5) Wrong use of colors : Colors are an important part of any website design and they shouldnt be overlooked or misused. Most designers still think that pastel colors are the best option for their websites but it usually doesn’t work that way. 6) Information overload : The biggest mistake that people make is to put too much information on a single page. This makes the web design look totally overloaded and it becomes difficult for the visitor to find what he/she is looking for. 7) Slow loading times : One of the biggest problems with website design is that most of them are extremely slow to load. This can be due to too many graphics and animations, or by the use of large files like pictures and videos. 8) Poor search engine optimizations : Another common mistake that people make is to ignore the basic SEO principles. The result is that they end up with a poorly optimized website which fails to rank high in search engines. 9) Poor navigation : Web users are getting smarter by the day and they are not going to spend their time browsing through your website if its difficult to navigate. Most designers make the mistake of using complex navigation menus which confuses the visitor and leads to frustration. 10) Lack of professionalism : The biggest problem with most website designs is that they lack professionalism. So, focus on the basics and don’t try to be too creative. Keep it simple and user-friendly and you will be surprised at the results.
