Here are Pros & Cons of Blogging if you are looking to get into blogging or are already a blogger who wants to make it a full-time profession then this will be of great help to you. Personally, I am big on blogging and have dedicated my life to this profession.

Sometimes I do find it challenging to come up with great content to write about and sometimes there is this creative block that comes when you are constantly writing blogs.

But there are ways for you to get back on that saddle and it’s not very difficult. However, there are some things that you should know about blogging. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. So here are the things that you need to be on the lookout for.

Pros of Blogging

In this current fast-paced online world, blogs are of great use. There is no topic that you will not find information on and this is something that is helping the world. Let’s discuss the pros of this profession.

Blogging

Ease of Business

For you to start a blog on a personal level is not that complicated. There are multiple web hosting platforms and brands that make it real easy for bloggers. For you to start a blog all you need to do is check the free options available on Google.

Some of the free blog writing sites are:

  1. Wix
  2. Tumbler
  3. Medium
  4. Weebly
  5. WordPress
  6. Mix

These are great platforms for you to start with your blogs. Along with getting the space to write your content you can keep upgrading for more services and get a full time website going in the future. Of course there is a cost involved to getting all the bells and whistles to create a successful website but then the options that you have are limitless.

Do What You Love

For me blogging brings out the best in me. I love to sit down with my research and write on the topics that I want to present to my viewers. If you are looking towards blogging as something that you would like to do as a profession then I am sure you are not here just exploring your options. You are sure that you would like to get into this field as it is your passion.

If you get an opportunity to do something you love then there is nothing like it. You also have control over when you would like to work or take some time for yourself which is great because you are totally in control of your work. You also can carry your work to any place that you would like to. So keep travelling and keep working at your own pace.

Start with Little to No Budget

For you to start your blog you can do it for free however if you want to generate revenue then you need to be ready to invest a little into your website. You need to allocate your funds towards social media campaigns, automated marketing tools, web hosting and so on. But the process can be slow as per your growth.

The more followers you are able to gather the more you move towards success and that’s when you need to start focusing on spending on these tools.

Learn to Drive Viewers to Your Website

Just because you are writing a lot of blogs does not mean you can move all the traffic to your website.

Lets say your blog focuses on a particular product and you are advertising the brand, there is no guarantee that any viewer will be interested to purchase the product from your website only when there are multiple other websites that are selling the same product.

How you can set yourself apart is what you need to focus on. If you can somehow engage an audience with tactful and fun content related to that particular product then the chances of increasing sales will go up significantly.

By creating a great sales funnel you will have the power to reach out to your potential customers with ease and sell the products and services you promote through your blogs better.

You Can Make Money Blogging

Pros & Cons of Blogging : Make Money

Once you get into this profession you will realise that there are so many ways that you can make money off your blogs.

You have the option of making money through donations from your followers for exclusive content, subscriptions or by selling and promoting products online. You can also sell ad space on your blogs, promote sponsored content or products and earn huge commissions from posting links that promote other people’s businesses and products.

A Platform to Build a Good Portfolio

If you would like to make a name for yourself then you need to have a strong portfolio. For a blogger this is not a difficult task as you will always have a platform through which you can build great content which can be showcased to your followers and business partners.

A well-articulated blog can go a long way even if you have used a third party domain to publish it. You can show your work to the potential clients and businesses to generate good revenue and make a name in the market.

The better you can write and promote your blogs the more business you can generate for yourself. Being a blogger who is looking to have a good portfolio then you need to ensure that your writing skills are superb, the better you write the better you will be able to promote your blogs.

Cons of Blogging

Spammers

Once you have an engaging website with tons of blogs to flaunt you are bound to get the problem of spammers.

What’s spam?

There are a lot of people who create software that auto generate comments and start polluting the blogs and websites with it. The way to identify spam messages is to stay alert and keep a track on very generic messages that might be being posted on the comment sections of your blogs.

Having too many spam messages on a blog will likely disqualify it from being shown on search engines and that is a real problem.

If you would like to control this then all you need to do is make sure that you go through all the comments that are posted on your blog and publish only the ones that seem genuine. If there are comments that are very general and

Have nothing to do with the blog that you have written then please make sure to remove them. All you need to do is hold the rights to publish each comment so that you have better control over what types of comments are being posted on your blogs.

Keeping Up With Technology

Once you start writing blogs on products and services you will see that each brand tries to upgrade and update their products. This becomes very challenging especially if you are the type of person who has been constantly writing blogs on such products.

Pros & Cons of Blogging : Keeping Up With Technology

In order to make sure that your blogs do not lose relevance, you need to keep checking up on the products and services that you have been promoting to ensure that your blogs are up to date.

The kind of upgrades and changes could be in the form of pricing, new offer prices, new product launch, updated features, new terms and conditions, changes in the return policies and the list can keep going on. This is a big task that you really need to prepare yourself for as it will affect the quality of your blogs in a drastic way.

 Internet Trolls

Internet trolls have taken over the world of web and social media with such a storm. Once you start finding troll comments on your blogs you are in for a showdown if you think that you can try to change their minds or to put some sense into them.

I will recommend that you should never waste your time on such comments as it would only be a waste of time and will bring your spirit down. You need to know that trolls are idle people who have nothing better to do, they can also be your competitors trying to break your spirit and spam your comment section with negative comments.

Here, again you have the feature to hold publishing rights on the comments and keep a track of such trolls. If you see that there are too many useless comments coming on your blogs then make sure that such comments are not published on your blogs. This will save you the hassle of dealing with such clowns and you can focus your energy on working on new blogs and keeping your old content updated.

Conclusion | Pros & Cons of Blogging 2024

Now if you were to weigh the pros and cons you would likely see that the pros overshadow the cons of blogging in a large way. As a blogger myself I have never seen the cons as something that cannot be dealt with.

If you are committed to making your blogs a success then these are merely challenges that you need to overcome and the best way to do so is to always stay on your toes and keep a track of all the activities that happen on your blogs

. For you to be successful in blogging, you will have to dedicate a lot of your time to do things with perfection and becoming a master at what you do.

If you are committed to always being on the lookout to learn new things and technologies that are introduced then there is nothing stopping you from being a pioneer in the blogging industry.
